Frontend & UX Engineering Intern

Dok Noord, Ghent · Internship · 2nd semester · ±3 months

The internship

Take a fresh, critical look at the entire airlock platform. Find where the experience breaks down. Design something better. Then build it.

Your mission: audit → prioritize → redesign → validate → ship.

What you'll own

  • Audit the airlock user experience end-to-end.
  • Map key user journeys and identify friction.
  • Talk to users and our team.
  • Challenge navigation, onboarding, interactions and UI consistency.
  • Prioritize improvements based on impact.
  • Prototype and validate solutions.
  • Implement the best ones in our frontend.

This isn't a three-month Figma exercise.

Find the problems. Design the solutions. Ship them.

What success looks like

  • Week 3: an audit of the whole platform, with the top 10 friction points ranked by impact, based on at least 5 user conversations.
  • Halfway: redesigns for the top 3, validated with users.
  • End: at least 3 improvements live in the product, each with a before and after measured, like the time to a first connected tool.

The most important ones are no longer just recommendations. They're in the product.

You

  • Frontend development, software engineering, UX engineering, digital design or similar.
  • You care about both how software works and how it feels to use.
  • Comfortable with frontend code and prototyping tools such as Figma.
  • Curious about why users get stuck.
  • Comfortable talking to users.
  • Interested in AI and modern software products.

Why airlock

You get an entire real product to challenge. Not one button someone assigned to you.

We give you context and access to users. You help decide what needs fixing.

Then we ship it.
